Master’s Degree Program in European Studies

The goal of the program is to prepare specialists, who are able to organize and run dialogue between Belarus and Europe both at the level of state institutions (in the future) and the level of civil society, to work in the education system by offering innovative courses in Social Sciences, and to carry out research. This program relates greatly to the prospect of Belarus’ democratization and developing links between Belarus and the West. It is now already that such Belarusian specialists can contribute to creating an intellectual fundament of present-day political processes. The program’s curriculum pays great attention to comparative policy studies, which allows students to master and evaluate the diversity of contemporary democratic models and understand the dynamics of the European integration processes. The curriculum also includes disciplines, which analyze legal and economic processes, along with the issues of European security. This provides the students with a many-facet overview of today’s Europe, which is of critical importance in a country imposing a highly ideologized and negative presentation of the European integration and its consequences. The program also treats with special attention the analysis of democratic transformation processes in Central and East European region, as it is of urgent importance for securing the democratic future for Belarus.
